TIERNEY IP (TIP) is committed to protecting and respecting your privacy.

This policy sets out the basis on which any personal data TIP collects from you, or that you provide to us, will be processed by us. Please read the following carefully to understand our views and practices regarding your personal data and how TIP will treat it.

TIP may collect and process the following data about you:

Information you give us (Submitted information): You may give us information about you by corresponding with us (for example, by e-mail or letter). The information you give us may include your name, address, e-mail address and phone number, age, financial information, personal description and photograph and any other information you choose to provide.

Information TIP receives from other sources (Third Party Information):TIP may work closely with third parties (including, for example, business partners, search information providers, credit reference agencies) and may receive information about you from them.

If you contact us, TIP may keep a record of that correspondence.

How we use your information

TIP uses information held about you in the following ways:

to communicate with you in relation to our practice and its services;

to provide you with client updates, or other legal updates (subject to any preferences you have expressed regarding such communications); and

where engagement terms have been agreed, to provide you with legal services.

Where TIP stores your personal data

The data that TIP collects from you is stored on secure servers located within Ireland.

Unfortunately, the transmission of information via the Internet is not completely secure.  Although TIP will do our best to protect your personal data, TIP cannot guarantee the security of your data transmitted to our site. You agree that any transmission is at your own risk. Once TIP has received your information, TIP will use strict procedures and security features to try to prevent unauthorised access.

We may transfer data that we collect from you to locations outside of the European Economic Area (“EEA”) for processing and storing, but only for the purposes of obtaining legal advice from a legal adviser outside the EEA on your behalf.  We will take all reasonable steps to make sure that your data is treated securely and in agreement with our Privacy Policy.

The transmission of information via the internet is not completely secure and therefore we cannot guarantee the security of data sent to us electronically and transmission of such data is therefore entirely at your own risk. Where we have given you (or where you have chosen) a password so that you can access certain parts of our site, you are responsible for keeping this password confidential.

You also have the right to request that any information we hold about you be amended if you believe it is inaccurate.

CHANGES TO THIS POLICY

TIP may revise this Privacy Policy from time to time. The most current version of the policy will govern our use of your information and will always be at www.tierneyip.com.  If TIP makes a change to this policy that, in our sole discretion, is material, TIP will notify you via email to the email address associated with your account. By continuing to access or use our services after those changes become effective, you agree to be bound by the revised Privacy Policy.

Governing Law & Jurisdiction

The terms of this Privacy Policy shall be governed by the law of Ireland. The courts of Ireland shall have sole jurisdiction to determine any matter, issue or dispute arising out of, or in connection with, this Privacy Policy.
